The manager of Alton Towers has described the forthcoming SW8 rollercoaster as being “very different” to the park’s other offerings.
In a column for the Stoke Sentinel newspaper, Divisional Director Ian Crabbe said the Staffordshire resort must continue to develop “individual and unique” attractions.
A wooden rollercoaster is currently under construction at the park, and is expected to open in March 2018.
“I love the big rides and this one looks very different to anything else we have in our compendium of world beating rollercoasters,” Crabbe said.
“I’ll definitely be the first in line to try it out when we open next year.
“It’s vital for us to continue creating new rides, attractions, shows and accommodation that are individual and unique.”
Crabbe said that Alton Towers was already looking at its “longer term plans” to ensure that it can reach its objectives.
