Thorpe Park’s Slammer ride will not operate in 2017, the theme park has confirmed.
The S&S Power-built ride has remained closed since the end of last season, and will continue to be for unspecified reasons.
Thorpe Park said the ride was “closed for the season” while advising a guest to “watch this space” in a response to a question over the ride’s future on Twitter.
Slammer has been dogged by reliability issues since it was installed at the park in 2005, seeing regular periods of downtime.
It is the only remaining Sky Swat model flat ride left in the world, following the closure of the US-based Catapult in 2013 – the only other model manufactured.
