As always at this time of the year, we would like to take a moment to reflect on the year that has passed.
However, as usual, it is most important for us to thank each every one of you that visit Ride Rater at our website and engage with us on social media.
Your numbers continue to grow, and for that we are truly grateful.
Once again we have named our Photographer of the Year in Elliott Morgan – our first winner from outside the UK.
We have again honoured Blackpool Pleasure Beach as theme park of the year for fantastic operations, plus we picked out their new Skyforce ride as Best New Addition.
The year has unfortunately been dominated by the horrendous Smiler accident at Alton Towers, which changed a number of young lives forever.
As the Health and Safety Executive’s investigation constitutes in the crash, it is worth remembering that nothing in life is truly devoid of risk.
However, as recent atrocities in Paris certainly prove, we should not allow ourselves to be slaves to fear.
Here’s to wish that 2016 is a more positive year both inside and outside of the UK theme park industry.
