We are delighted to announce that Blackpool Pleasure Beach has been selected as Ride Rater’s Theme Park of the Year 2014.
Selected by the editorial team, the veteran Lancashire attraction has continued to impress by defying convention once again this season.
November saw the park open until midnight, something which had not been seen for a number of years.
The park also continues to push the boundaries where others parks do not dare.
All of its rides and attractions, including the water rides are open from early February each year, while other parks shy away from that sort of scale until mid March at the earliest.
The Pleasure Beach is an incredibly important jewel in the north’s crown, and we are high appreciative of the level of commitment it gives to the local and regional area.
It is also the only park to have reduced its entry prices in 2014 and has also continued to maintain its vintage wooden rides where other parks might have been tempted to get rid.
With the new Red Arrows Sky Force ride coming next year, we hope that 2015 will be a hugely successful year for the park.
Air Race: Best New Addition 2014
Meanwhile, we have named Air Race at Drayton Manor winner of our Best New Addition Award for 2014.
The year has seen a relatively low number of additions for thrillseekers at UK theme parks, but that is not to take away from the sound investment Drayton manor have made in this flat ride.
