Thorpe Park has submitted a planning application for an indoor attraction scheduled to open for the 2016 season.
To be located west the X rollercoaster, details of what will be contained within the building are omitted from the documents.
The project is described as a “unique themed attraction within a building” in the planning application submitted to Runnymede Borough Council on 30 October.
The application also reveals that the park’s next rollercoaster will now not open until at least the 2017 season.
The proposed site of the new attraction currently contains the Thorpe Park’s events arena, which will be demolished according to the plans.
Plans for the 2016 Thorpe Park attraction indicate that the building will be insulated with sound-absorbing material, while the floorspace is indicated at 2,807 square metres in area.
The attraction will be the park’s feature addition for the 2016 season and is expected to open along with the rest of the park in early to mid March of that year.
