Flamingo Land has opened its new flying rollercoaster, Hero, ahead of the peak summer holiday period.
The ride is a Volare model from Italian manufacturers Zamperla, who have also provided the North Yorkshire park with two other smaller rollercoasters this year.
Flamingo Land typically opens its major attractions in the middle of summer, close to the start of the busy school holiday period.
Volare – taken from the Latin phrase ‘to fly’ – is a rollercoaster model that has attracted mixed reviews since being launched.
The ride’s maximum theoretical guest throughput is 600 people per hour.
