Alton Towers has begun taking delivery of track for the Secret Weapon Seven (SW7) rollercoaster, as the ride’s construction continues.
Painted black, it is consistent with the Gerstlauer Euro-Fighter design of which the ride will be an example.
It closely resembles the track used in the construction of Saw – The Ride at Thorpe Park in Surrey.
Described by Alton Towers as “world beating”, SW7 is scheduled to open on 16 March next year and is expected to feature a secretive pioneering element within an enclosed section of the ride.
It was revealed earlier this month that each of its trains will seat 16 guests, as opposed to the traditional Euro-Fighter cars – which hold eight people.
