Camelot is to re-open the Excalibur 2 flat ride following an accident in which a boy fell from it last year.
In August last year, the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) ordered the immediate closure of the ride following the 12-year-old’sĀ fall, and their investigation is not yet complete.
A HSE spokesman said: “Our investigation is still ongoing into the incident at the Camelot theme park in August last year, where a boy fell from the Excalibur 2 ride.
“However, we are satisfied that the safety features on the ride meet health and safety legislation, and that it therefore does not pose a risk to the public.”
The boy suffered head and hip injuries when he fell from the ride while it was in motion, but has since made a full recovery.
The ride, a Fabbri Evolution, will return to service when the Chorley theme park re-opens on 31 March.
