Flamingo Land thieves receive jail terms

Four men from Merseyside have been jailed following a conviction for burglary at a number of sites in the UK, including Flamingo Land.

An ATM – or cash machine – in one of the park’s restaurants was forced open with a crowbar in April last year, with the gang fleeing with large amounts of cash.

Kevin Caveney (26), David Owens (35) and Shaun Ennis (41) admitted conspiracy to burgle and Robin Vaughan (39) admitted assisting an offender, at Preston Crown Court.

Owens was jailed for seven years, Ennis received six-and-a-half years and Caveney was handed five years, nine months. Vaughan was sentenced to 18 months for assisting them.
