Swarm online marketing campaign escalates

Thorpe Park has stepped up its internet marketing campaign for its new for 2012 rollercoaster The Swarm.

TheSwarm.co.uk now generates a video based on the visitor’s inputting of their address and Facebook details.

A customised video is then automatically generated, which shows the inputted address with Google Street View-type images.

Images of the user’s Facebook friends are also shown on a collection of ‘missing’-style posters.

The ride is scheduled to open on 15 March next year, with Thorpe Park already making tickets available for a launch period running to 1 April.

Construction of the ride is well underway, with supports and track currently being erected by crane on its site – a new island adjacent to Stealth.
