Girl killed on Drayton Manor ride named

Evha Jannath

The 11-year-old girl who was killed on Drayton Manor’s Splash Canyon water ride has been named as Evha Jannath.

Her parents said their “world was torn apart” by the accident, which occurred on the rapids-type attraction at around 14:15 BST yesterday.

“Yesterday our world was torn apart by the news that our daughter and sister Evha, had lost her life in tragic circumstances, following a school trip to Drayton Manor Park”, the family said.

“Evha was a beautiful little girl who was full of love and always smiling.

“Words cannot describe the pain and loss we feel, we are devastated that we will not see our beautiful little girl again.”

The family asked to be allowed to grieve in private, and deal with its loss as a family.

The police and Health and Safety Executive (HSE) have both begun an investigation into what happened.

The HSE will likely take over the investigation fully in due course, with the results not expected for at least several months.
