Alton Towers expands delayed ride opening policy

ThirteenAlton Towers has expanded its delayed ride opening times policy in certain areas.

The Dark Forest area – home to the Thirteen and Rita rollercoasters – now opens at 11am, one hour after the park opens.

The Flume and Congo River Rapids water rides now open at 12 noon, an hour later than previous opening times.

The Nemesis Sub-Terra and Ripsaw rides also open two hours later, at 12 noon.

The Hex dark ride is also affected, with its opening moving from 10am to 11am.

Similar measures have been introduced and subsequently reversed following considerable criticism in recent years.

Alton Towers said on Twitter that research had indicated that the affected areas were less busy in the morning.

It said it would “continue to collate and review all guest feedback” regarding the changes.

  1. This really does upset me as they keep updating the prices of tickets but i feel you get less value for money based on ride avaliabilitie and the i do definately think the queue times are going to be directly affected by this

  2. That’s so awful and not thought out when some people only want to go to each area once and stay there for all the rides, so with air not opening til 9.30 blade not opening til 10, and now sub Terra and ripsaw 12, makes early ride time such a pain!!

Also do you know if the woodland walkway is open yet?
